You'll be hiking at 10,000 feet altitude and the walk around the lake has ups and downs. Around the whole lake would take many hours. I am no expert on pregnancy, but I imagine if you are accustomed to the altitude by then you can manage a short walk and head back before you get tired. I don't know your situation, but I don't recall that there was parking there. I hope this helps.

I'm not sure the best way to hike it since I took the boat, but you are hiking around the crater rim and arrive at the same spot so you would have similar elevation differences either way. As far as getting there I'm assuming you are going from Otovala. You would take a bus to one of two towns nearby and from there a taxi is $5 to the crater. You can have him pick you up at a certain time comin back or just snag a taxi dropping someone else off. You could also hitchhike back into town fairly easily if you are comfortable with that.
