I thought San Antonio was all about The Alamo but here's a real nice walk by the river that, while it isn't Venice, is reminiscent of a stroll on a very picturesque canal. There are lots of restauran…Full review by Diane R

It is a ‘nice’ walk - scenic and relaxed in heart of San Antonio. Lots of little shops just off the walk and nice little restaurants/bars along. Lots of access to city and various sites.Full review by Nedelakttraveler

I always love the Riverwalk! The boat rides may be a little pricey, but worth it to see more. (I especially love riding the boats at night....the lights are gorgeous!) I just enjoy walking around the…Full review by cooms2014

While I can't answer your question from a legal or bylaw perspective, the river walk does have at least one elevator access from street level (may be another at the mall?) and though I didn't notice any handicap scooters on the walk, there were people with strollers or walkers. The walk is level but caution that there is no railing for most of it and should you drop a wheel off the edge, you could go for a swim (apparently a $500 fine if caught in the river....). Note also that the bridges that cross over the river from one side to the other have stairs (at least all the ones we crossed). I think someone from San Antonio or another more knowledgeable person should wade in here with more information. I'd try to reach the local visitor info site for that. There are restaurants and some shops as well as the river cruise are accessible with a wheelchair or scooter.

I really can't stand heat and humidity. Would I be silly going to San Antonio? Would I be OK going in winter? What months ((if any) are cool but dry?
A:
Winter averages are around mid 60's but it can drop down to the 40's. Probably not much chance of rain though. I'd avoid Christmas and Thanksgiving because of the extra cost of travel.
