Fant, 27, spent the past three seasons with the Seahawks after being acquired in the 2022 trade that sent Russell Wilson to Denver. He appeared in 48 games, starting 42, and made 130 receptions for 1,400 yards and five touchdowns in his time in Seattle.

Even though it wasn't exactly surprising, the Seattle Seahawks made a huge move on Sunday by releasing starting tight end Noah Fant to free up nearly $9 million in cap space.

On Sunday, the Seattle Seahawks announced that they had released veteran tight end Noah Fant. Just last March, the 27-year-old pass-catcher agreed to a two-year, $21 million extension. His $8.5 million base salary for this upcoming season is now off Seattle's books.
