State leaders and family are urging a full investigation into Norfolk sailor Angelina Resendiz’s death, questioning the Navy’s response and transparency.

The body of 21-year-old U.S. Navy Seaman Angelina Petra Resendiz, who vanished from her barracks at Virginia's Naval Station Norfolk two weeks ago, was discovered in a wooded area and positively identified by the Norfolk Medical Examiner's Office today.

Angelina Resendiz vanished from her barracks at Naval Station Norfolk the morning of Thursday, May 29. Nearly two weeks later, her body was recovered behind an elementary school in Norfolk.
