The recent winter storm that dumped copious amounts of snow, sleet and ice over the state may have moved on but the headaches left in its wake may take a little longer to deal with as a number of structures were damaged and others destroyed by the weight of accumulated snow and ice.

Southern Arkansas is likely going to see little to no snow at all. A majority of the state will see sleet as the system moves through the weekend. The middle part of Arkansas is expected to see anywhere from two to four inches, while surrounding areas could see an inch or less of sleet.

A winter storm system brought snow and freezing temperatures to much of the country, including Arkansas.
The governor ordered the Arkansas National Guard Monday to transition its winter weather response from assisting State Police to helping transport patients after a winter storm hit the state. Gov. Sarah Huckabee Sanders ordered the guard to transition supporting the health department in 18 counties at least through Wednesday.
This winter storm dumped a combination of snow and sleet over the state. Overall totals are trending higher over locations in north central Arkansas.
