There’s a new tropical storm in the Atlantic Ocean, and two other disturbances that have a shot to get names as well. The National Hurricane Center named Tropical Storm Dexter late Sunday while it was several hundred miles off the coast of North Carolina. Dexter is headed away from the United States, however.

A tropical storm churned Monday in the western Atlantic Ocean, but forecasters say it was expected to move away from the U.S. coast and stay north of Bermuda. Tropical Storm Dexter is the fourth named storm of the 2025 Atlantic hurricane season.

Tropical Storm Dexter, the fourth named storm of the season, formed Sunday night as two other disturbances move in the Atlantic Ocean, according to the National Hurricane Center. None of the systems pose an immediate threat to Louisiana.
