Some schools delayed Wednesday and forecast calls for more snow in Whatcom County
Several schools in northwest Whatcom County will be starting late on Wednesday in the face of unseasonably cold temperatures and drifting snow on rural roads. Only flurries were in the forecast overnight Tuesday, but more snow could be on the way for Wednesday afternoon, according to the National Weather Service in Seattle.
Schools closed in Whatcom County, Seattle area after Western WA snow
Public schools are closed in Bellingham, Lynden and around Whatcom County, where chilly air from Canada dipped temperatures to the teens early Monday. Whatcom Community College closed its campus, but online classes are still happening. Western Washington University’s campus was closed until 10 a.m.

Spotty snow showers have dropped enough accumulating snow in some northwest Oregon and southwest Washington communities to cancel classes at local schools. As of 6:30 a.m. Wednesday, Corbett, Oregon Trail and Rainier districts have closed schools due to hazardous road conditions.
