The very American comic book hero has always faced challenges abroad. But Trump's controversial global policies and a China market that’s (largely) moved on from Hollywood tentpoles haven't helped.

According to the same report that revealed DC’s attempt to steal Kevin Feige from Marvel, the brass at Warner Bros. have set Superman’s worldwide financial goal post at a cool $500 million. That doesn’t look impossible, when looking at the $416.2 million haul, reported at the time of writing by Box Office Mojo.

Sinners' and 'Superman' were hits, but not everything of the horror and superhero ilk is resonating at the box office.

The accounting firm PwC now suggests in its closely watched annual report that 2030 "may be the year global box office revenues return to pre-pandemic levels."

Ahaan Panday and Aneet Padda's Saiyaara has concluded its opening week with an impressive sum at the worldwide box office.

"Each movie will introduce audiences to new biomes," producer Jon Landau previously told Entertainment Weekly. "Each movie is going to introduce audiences to new clans, new cultures on Pandora. Once we introduce a character, they stay a part of the ongoing evolution. We just add to it."
