Brandin Cooks clears waivers
The Saints didn’t need to beef up receiver Brandin Cooks’s contract, after all. The original terms — $420,000 for the rest of the season and $1.69 million fully guaranteed in 2026 — were enough to keep any of the other teams from claiming Cooks on waivers. Released Saturday, Cooks cleared waivers on Monday.
Thus far in 2025, Cooks is 122nd at his position and 335th in the league in fantasy points, with 16.5 points, or 1.8 per game. Across his past three tilts, Cooks has averaged 1.4 fantasy points (4.1 total). He has 41 yards receiving, on six catches (eight targets), and zero touchdowns.
After an odd few days, Brandin Cooks has been waived by the New Orleans Saints and is out there for the taking for franchises right now. On Saturday afternoon,
SI on Steelers' Jack Markowski argued the Pittsburgh Steelers shouldn't sign recently released veteran wide receiver Brandin Cooks.
Before he was granted his release from the New Orleans Saints, Brandin Cooks gave Mason Tipton a heads-up that the move was in the works.
