As of 11 a.m. today, the National Hurricane Center said the storm is moving “northeast away from the U.S. East Coast with little change in strength."

Tropical Storm Dexter formed on Sunday night, Aug. 3, becoming the fourth named storm of the 2025 Atlantic hurricane season.

There’s a new tropical storm in the Atlantic Ocean, and two other disturbances that have a shot to get names as well. The National Hurricane Center named Tropical Storm Dexter late Sunday while it was several hundred miles off the coast of North Carolina. Dexter is headed away from the United States, however.
