Now that the Indiana Hoosiers are being taken seriously, quarterback Fernando Mendoza is getting serious Heisman Trophy attention.
Mendoza began his career at Cal as a 3-star recruit in the 2022 class, per 247Sports. Last year at Cal, he threw for 3,004 yards, 16 touchdowns, and six interceptions, but displayed the potential that drew the interest from Indiana head coach Kurt Cignetti.
Indiana head coach Curt Cignetti, who quickly turned the Hoosiers into a Big Ten contender, said Fernando Mendoza has "unlimited" upside.
