On Saturday at 2:04 a.m. the National Weather Service issued an updated flash flood watch valid between 11 a.m. and 11 p.m. for Oregon Lower Treasure Valley as well as Harney, Baker and Malheur counties.
Forecasters say some of the strong storm cells could generate rainfall rates of 1.5 to 2.5 inches per hour, which could result in rapid flooding on roads and near creeks or streams.
"The heavy rain has ended. Flooding is no longer expected to pose a threat. Please continue to heed remaining road closures," says the NWS Newport/Morehead City NC. The warning is in effect until 8:15 p.m.
FORT OGLETHORPE, Ga. - Widespread flash flooding has been reported in Catoosa and Walker counties in northwest Georgia. The flooding also closed a portion of Interstate 24 in Chattanooga causing a massive traffic backup into Georgia. On Wednesday at 12:07 p.m. a flood watch was released by the National Weather Service valid from 2 p.m. until Thursday 1 a.m. for Eastern Chester, Eastern Montgomery and Lower Bucks as well as Delaware and Philadelphia counties.
