Not content with the animated series already in the works, Hasbro is working with Legendary to bring the beloved card game to the big screen.

The Gathering live-action universe, complete with movies, TV series, and more, is coming from Legendary Entertainment and Hasbro.

Hasbro is conjuring up a universe based on its Magic: The Gathering game. The toy company is teaming with Legendary Entertainment to develop a shared Magic: The Gathering universe that it says will span film and TV. The first order of business is adapting the game as a movie.

The news release notes that Hasbro has also licensed Magic: The Gathering to Netflix for the previously reported (and recently revived) upcoming animated TV series, which suggests this new deal hasn’t canceled or overwritten the old one. Presumably, Legendary’s planned Magic universe won’t intersect with Netflix’s version at all.
