Ministry of External Affairs on Sunday said that Prime Minister Narendra Modi expressed confidence about further strengthening of relations between India and the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) in his high-level delegation talks with the Kuwaiti leadership.

During his visit to Kuwait, Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi met with the Emir of Kuwait, Sheikh Nawaf Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah, and expressed gratitude to the Indian diaspora for their contributions.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi embarked on a two-day visit to Kuwait, aiming to strengthen ties with the Gulf nation. Discussions will focus on trade, energy, regional security, and prosperity. Modi emphasized the historical connection between the two countries and the shared interest in West Asian stability.

PM Narendra Modi arrived in Kuwait on Saturday, marking the first visit by an Indian PM in 43 years, and received a resounding welcome from the Indian community in the Gulf country.

The two-day trip kickstarted on Saturday (21 Dec) when he received an invite from the Emir of Kuwait, Sheikh Meshal Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah.
