New Jersey Democratic officials slammed a workplace raid conducted by Immigration and Customs Enforcement at a seafood market in Newark, New Jersey on Thursday.

NEWARK, N.J. -- The mayor of Newark, New Jersey is demanding answers after ICE agents conducted an operation in his city . Mayor Ras Baraka said a local business was raided Thursday and multiple people were detained.

Newark Mayor Ras J. Baraka issued a statement late Thursday afternoon denouncing the raid as an “egregious act” conducted without a warrant and in violation of the Fourth Amendment of the U.S. Constitution, which guarantees “the right of the people be secure in their persons, houses, papers, and effects, against unreasonable searches and seizures.”
