Newcastle United supporters have expressed their concern at the Premier League club's decision on Friday to consult a section of the fanbase regarding their plans to change the club's iconic crest which has been in use for 37 years.

Newcastle United are to consult with their supporters on “refining and reviving” their current club crest. The club have launched a consultation process with fans via an independently run survey aimed at seeking advice on how they can modernise their badge.

Newcastle have announced they plan to update the club's crest but want supporters help in the "thoughtful evolution process". Season ticket holders and members will be invited to take part in a survey that allows them to say what should stay the same, or could be updated, as they "Refine & Revive" the crest.
