The Princess Royal has started her two-day trip to South Africa solo, as her husband Vice Admiral Sir Tim Laurence drops out of the visit. Anne began her visit to Cape Town alone after Sir Tim suffered a suspected torn ligament while working on her Gatcombe estate, it is understood.

Anne’s visit wrapped up on the final day of her two-day trip to South Africa, where she also toured the Desmond and Leah Tutu Legacy Foundation. She also commemorated the sacrifices of black South Africans and other races who played a vital role as military labourers during the First World War.

The former naval officer’s injury comes seven months after the Princess Royal was also injured at their home, Gatcombe Park, last summer

The Princess Royal offered sage advice to yachting hopefuls vying for a place in a prestigious transatlantic race – you will have to learn to live together. Princess Anne has once again donned her favourite Adidas Team GB sunglasses whilst battling the sweltering 33C heat during her two-day visit to South Africa. The Princess Royal was spotted wearing the iconic white-framed shades during a tour of the South African Riding for the Disabled Association in Cape Town.

The Princess Royal’s first visit in South Africa was the South African Riding for the Disabled Association (SARDA), which has provided free equine therapy, sport and training to the most vulnerable in society for the last 52 years. Her Royal Highness previously visited the organisation 30 years ago, on 25 November 1994.

While wraparound sunglasses are not very mainstream, fans of the look can buy similar sunglasses to Anne at Marks and Spencer for just £20. As well as her Adidas pair, the princess has been spotted wearing numerous glasses of the same style over the years.
