Democratic U.S. Sen. Sherrod Brown made clear during a farewell speech Tuesday that he does not plan to abandon his career-long fight for American workers despite suffering a bitter defeat last month in Ohio.

Ohio’s senior Democratic senator told colleagues that despite his defeat, he was not done with politics just yet.

The outgoing senator recognizes—to a greater extent than any other Democrat—the need to renew the party’s commitment to a politics of economic populism.
