Stellantis has reversed its decision to lay off about 1,100 employees at an Ohio Jeep plant, instead extending a worker adjustment and retraining notification notice, the Franco-Italian automaker said late on Saturday.

Stellantis confirmed Saturday it was reversing a decision to lay off 1,100 workers at its Jeep plant in the US state of Ohio, following the ouster of embattled chief executive Carlos Tavares.

Stellantis NV will no longer lay off more than 1,000 people at its Toledo Jeep Gladiator plant in January, the automaker said Friday.
