Gov. Tim Walz has activated the Minnesota National Guard to assist St. Paul in responding to a cyberattack on the capital city on Tuesday.

Gov. Tim Walz activated the state military's cyber forces to help ensure public services continue to run as the city of Saint Paul battles an ongoing cyberattack.

Minnesota Governor Tim Walz called in the National Guard after a huge cyberattack prompted safety concerns in St. Paul. In the early hours of last Friday, the city’s cybersecurity protection systems detected “suspicious activity” on its network, St. Paul Mayor Melvin Carter said during a Tuesday press conference.
