President Donald Trump will use an executive order Wednesday to bar transgender athletes under the federal Title IX law. That law bars sex discrimination at educational institutions that receive federal funds.

The order gives federal agencies wide latitude to ensure entities that receive federal funding abide by Title IX in alignment with the Trump administration’s view.
