PAULDING COUNTY, Ga. ( WANF /Gray News) - A man was sentenced to nearly 500 years in prison for his role in a dogfighting operation. Vincent Lemark Burrell was arrested in 2022 after deputies discovered 106 dogs at his home in Paulding County, Georgia.

More than 100 malnourished pit bulls were discovered at the home of Vincent Lemark Burrell, tied to trees and metal stakes.

The Paulding County Animal Shelter took custody of the dogs and they were later taken to a rescue organization. A judge sentenced Burrell to 475 years in prison, the maximum sentence possible.
