Former U.S. president Jimmy Carter will lie in state in Washington for a second day. His remains arrived in Washington on Tuesday as part of state funeral rites and people will pay their respects again Wednesday.

The public will be able to pay their respects to the 39th president at the U.S. Capitol until his state funeral Thursday morning.
