With the Yankees leading the Red Sox, 7-0, Anthony Volpe exited Friday’s game in the top of the fourth inning. The Bombers’ shortstop took a hit-by-pitch to his left elbow in the bottom of the third when Walker Buehler misfired an 88.8-mph changeup. The inside pitch came with the bases loaded and forced a runner in. It also left Volpe in some pain.

Away from the celebration, Dodgers pitcher Walker Buechler stood with his arms raised high. A starter pitching in relief, the right-hander killed the Yankees’ season by pitching a 1-2-3 ninth with two strikeouts to seal a one-run victory.

Unfortunately for the Yankees, Volpe exited Friday's contest in the fourth inning after being hit by a pitch in his previous at-bat. The hit-by-pitch came on an 88.8 MPH pitch from Red Sox starter Walker Buehler in the second inning. While Volpe initially stayed in the game, he was lifted two innings later.
