Chevrolet Volt has bad Battery Control Module (BCM) that results in loss of power and inability to charge vehicle. Dealer cannot get the module, backorder, with no projected availability date.

GM has issued a Special Coverage bulletin for the 2016 through 2018 Chevy Volt, for an available fix for a battery energy control module malfunction.

The National Highway Safety Administration (NHTSA) closed its investigation on Monday into the 2016-2019 Chevy Volt plug-in hybrid, which opened in 2023.
