Bowling Green's unofficial mascot, Pudge the cat, steals the show once again with a feature on ESPN's College GameDay.

Saturday marked the 90th meeting between MAC rivals Bowling Green and Toledo. The two schools, separated by just 25 miles of highway, compete every year for the Battle of I-75 Trophy, and local bragging rights over the next 12 months.

Lucian Anderson III threw two touchdowns and Cameron Pettaway caught two scores and Bowling Green rallied from a three touchdown deficit to beat Toledo 28-23.

Bowling Green's new mascot is a 3-year-old Persian cat owned by George Carlson, who also happens to be the football team's long snapper.

Bowling Green made a coaching hire prior to 2025, a head coach from the FCS level, who is well known in the football world, Eddie George. The 1995 Heisman running back from Ohio State was formerly at Tennessee State from 2021-2024, where he had a 24-22 record and a playoff appearance in 2024 before making the jump this year.

Bowling Green didn't have too much breathing room in their contest against Western Michigan when the teams last played back in November of 2022, but they still walked away with a 13-9 win. The rematch might be a little tougher for Bowling Green since the team won't have the home-field advantage this time around.
