Stock market indices fell, and oil prices rose after the reported attack on the United Arab Emirates by Iran, which came nearly a month into a ceasefire.

Iranian news agencies had earlier claimed that Iran struck a U.S. vessel. The U.S. Central Command said that “no U.S. Navy ships have been struck.”

May 4 (Reuters) - The United Arab Emirates said its air defences were engaging missile and drone threats on Monday evening as firefighters battled a blaze at a major oil industry zone following a drone attack which authorities said had originated from Iran.
