Wake Forest played a complete game and took care of UNC on Saturday night. It was a great win against a rival opponent. This was a game where the Deacs never trailed and held the Tar Heels to just 12 points, all field goals. The Deacs were also able to block two kicks.
Michigan started strong, grabbing a 7-2 lead before Wake Forest’s 9-0 run. Mara passed over the defense to a cutting McKenney for a layup and then threw a long outlet pass to Lendeborg for a dunk that tied the game at 18 midway through the first half.
The Deacs are going bowling! Wake Forest went into Charlottesville and knocked off the 14th ranked Virginia Cavaliers to get their 6th win of the season. The Deacs did exactly what they needed to do in this one to pull off the upset—turn the game into a defensive slugfest and capitalize on big plays.
