The Akron Zips face the Texas Tech Red Raiders on Friday as March Madness action continues, with the Red Raiders aiming to impose their defensive identity early in the tournament.

TAMPA, Fla. — The Akron Zips men's basketball team hoped to finally dance a little longer. Instead, UA fell 91-71 to Texas Tech in a first-round Midwest Region game on Friday, March 20.

UA had to fight off a tough Toledo squad, but prevailed in the title game 79-76 thanks to Shammah Scott's clutch 3-pointer with just six seconds remaining.
