The San Antonio Spurs will be tested once again in their first playoff run, this time set to face the injury-ravaged Minnesota Timberwolves in the Western Conference Semifinals.

The Timberwolves outlasted Denver on Thursday night in Game 6 to advance to the second round and a matchup with second-seeded San Antonio.

SAN ANTONIO – The NBA announced the schedule for the second round of the playoffs on Thursday. The San Antonio Spurs will face the winner of the series between the Denver Nuggets and the Minnesota Timberwolves. San Antonio advanced after defeating the Portland Trail Blazers in Game 5 of the first round.

San Antonio closed out Portland with a commanding performance to reach the second round for the first time since 2017.

The Spurs are back in the Western Conference semifinals for the first time since 2017 after eliminating the Blazers 114-95 on Tuesday night in Game 5 of their first-round series.
