Forecast models are leaning toward the possibility of impactful mountain snow and Valley rain, but uncertainty lingers this far out.
The rain’s arrival overnight came as predicted along the coast in Monterey and San Benito counties. Remnants from a tropical storm in the southern Pacific Ocean off the coast of Mexico has sent moisture north since late last week, and that moisture has mixed with higher pressure up north that’s been responsible for the heat.
There’s uncertainty about rainfall totals from the coastal low system, but coastal flood advisories and watches are in effect this week.

Storm Team 3: Much needed rain continues today
Expect more cloud cover to continue today and tomorrow, with scattered to numerous rain showers today and tomorrow. Given the ongoing drought conditions across the region, the rain will be beneficial.
Tomorrow will be cool and windy with highs in the mid to upper 60s along with winds out of the NE at 10-20 mph.
Things turn tropical Thursday and Friday as moisture from Tropical Storm Priscilla spreads north, bringing rain and thundestorms to the county.
Right now, New England could see anywhere from a fall nor'easter to some regular showers or clouds during the latter part of the long weekend.
