A judge partially froze a provision of the One Big Beautiful Bill Act just days after President Trump signed it into law.
Planned Parenthood serves roughly 25,000 people per year in the commonwealth. That includes nearly 800 people who use Medicaid for services in Virginia every month.

Planned Parenthood’s funding will not yet be cut off after a federal judge on Monday evening temporarily blocked a provision of the Ong Big Beautiful Bill Act aimed at defunding the group for one year. The judge says the temporary order will only last for 14 days.
While advocates focused on Planned Parenthood, the bill did not mention it by name. Instead, it cut off reimbursements for organizations that are primarily engaged in family planning services — which generally include things such as contraception, abortion and pregnancy tests — and received more than $800,000 from Medicaid in 2023.
Planned Parenthood has one clinic location each in Orlando, Kissimmee and Lakeland, two facilities in Tampa, and 12 other locations throughout Florida.
