Officers are investigating a Nov. 12 report by a resident stating that a contractor stole $1,850 from him after not building a fence on his property, then repaying him with a bounced check.

A police officer in Bergen County was injured this week when a driver ran a red light, crashing into his patrol vehicle two blocks off Route 17, authorities said.

A woman was found alive in a different state 14 years after she was reported missing in Iowa, police announced on Tuesday. The Des Moines Police Department announced that the woman, whose identity was not disclosed, was found "alive and well" in Nebraska. She disappeared during a trip to visit family in Iowa in 2011.
