Over the last two sessions, the Sensex gained 1.85 per cent and the Nifty rose by 2.1 per cent. The total market capitalisation of the BSE-listed firms reached ₹398 trillion after a rise of ₹13.6 trillion over the last three sessions.

On Thursday, March 06, the 30-share BSE benchmark Sensex gained 609.86 points or 0.83 per cent to close at 74340.09. The NSE Nifty went up by 207.40 points or 0.93 per cent to close at 22544.70.

The benchmark indices ended in green for the second straight session on Thursday. The NSE Nifty 50 rose to hit the 22,500-mark again after five sessions, whereas the BSE Sensex reclaimed the 74,000-mark. The Nifty 50 ended 207.4 points or 0.93% higher at 22,544.7, while the Sensex closed 609.8 points or 0.83% higher at 74,340.09.

Indian markets rose for the second session on March 6, with the Nifty 50 up 0.93% and Sensex gaining 0.83%. Positive global cues and lower crude prices boosted stocks. The RBI's liquidity measures further supported banking and NBFC stocks.

Indian benchmark indices, Nifty and Sensex staged a strong rebound from oversold levels, closing the session on Wednesday with gains of around 1 per cent after a period of market decline. This rally puts the Nifty 50 on track to break its 10-day losing streak,

Sensex stood at 73,392.10, up 402.17 points or 0.55 per cent. Nifty climbed 83 points or 0.38 per cent to 22,165.65. HCL Tech, Tech Mahindra and Mahindra & Mahindra jumped 2-3 per cent and led the Sensex gainers.

The trends on Gift Nifty also indicate a flat-to-positive start for the Indian benchmark index. The Gift Nifty was trading around 22,467 level, a premium of nearly 26 points from the Nifty futures’ previous close.
