Some of the world’s biggest companies pledged tens of billions of dollars to accelerate the development of artificial intelligence in Pennsylvania, the latest splashy investments expected to draw praise from President Trump.

President Trump said Tuesday he's speeding up permitting and making it easier for data centers to connect to the electricity grid in announcing $92 billion in AI and energy investments at a Pennsylvania summit.

On July 15, Trump will travel to Pennsylvania to tout more than $90 billion in private sector investment in the state, including in data centers, energy, power infrastructure and personnel needed to fuel the country’s AI ambitions, according to the office of Sen. Dave McCormick, a Pennsylvania Republican.
