The Fresno State Bulldogs (7-3) look to make a late push for a spot in the Mountain West Conference championship game while the visiting Utah State Aggies (5-5) seek bowl eligibility when the teams meet in Fresno on Saturday night.

The game turned on an unusual play. After KSU took a 47-35 lead on Joe Jackson’s third rushing touchdown of the game, the Wildcats went for 2, but Utah’s Tao Johnson intercepted a tipped ball and returned it to the Kansas State end zone for 2 points to make it 47-37.

In its past two games, Fresno State has heavily relied on the run game while its pass game has been lackluster. In its win over Boise State, 189 of its 224 total yards were on the ground. The following week against Wyoming 107 of its 184 total yards were rushing.

Utah’s wild, back-and-forth matchup with Kansas State at Rice-Eccles Stadium on Saturday led to plenty of roller coaster reactions on social media. Nothing was quite as zany, though, as the way Utah finished the game after trailing by 12 points with seven minutes left.
