Microsoft is making it easier to change your default file associations by adding a new search feature that lets you quickly find the extension you wish to modify.

Microsoft's February security update is causing issues for Windows 10 and Word 2013 users.

Microsoft said Thursday that XML would be the default file format for three applications when it ships Office 12 late next year.

Windows makes it easy for you to open up these files by setting up default programs for each file type -- images files, for example, will open by default in the Windows 10 Photos app.
