Students can earn an LPN certificate in 16 to 28 months, with options for both full- and part-time classes, and will be prepared to take the National Council Licensure Examination (NCLEX-PN).

Dickinson State University faculty say the Licensed Practical Nursing program could return as early as next spring.

Dickinson State will restart its LPN program in spring 2026 and continues planning for a full BSN program in 2027.
