The Netflix series was co-created by Lorre, Susan McMartin, and star Leanne Morgan. Morgan is an compelling figure, a 59-year-old mother of three who only started performing comedy at the age of 32. She calls herself the “the Mrs. Maisel of Appalachia."

As of August 1, a.k.a. the day after Leanne Season 1 dropped on Netflix, the series has not been renewed for Season 2. No need to fret just yet, it often takes weeks or months for Netflix to announce a renewal, so just try to hold your breath until then.
