If the Sixers aren’t confident in their ability to retain Guerschon Yabusele this offseason, they should explore his trade market in the next two weeks.

There has been a school of thought that maybe the Sixers dangle Guerschon Yabusele out there at the Feb. 6 deadline. He is on an expiring deal and with the season they are having, one wonders if Philadelphia can get some draft picks in return.

Yabusele has been upgraded from questionable to available Tuesday after missing Philadelphia's previous two contests due to a knee injury. With Joel Embiid (knee) still out, Yabusele should reclaim the starting center job from Andre Drummond (toe).

Guerschon Yabusele is a terrific offensive rebounder, but he's found a niche within that to generate extra possessions.

The news arrived after Embiid missed the previous six games because of a sprained left foot. The seven-time All-Star has only played 13 games this season because of the sprained foot, knee swelling, left knee management, a right sinus fracture, and a three-game suspension.

Yabusele (knee) registered 22 points (8-13 FG, 4-5 3Pt, 2-3 FT), three rebounds and three assists across 24 minutes during Tuesday's 144-109 loss to the Nuggets. Yabusele returned from a two-game absence due to a knee injury and didn't waste time to make his presence felt off the bench.

Embiid and Drummond will both miss their fifth consecutive game with a sprained left foot and sprained left toe, respectively.

It’s the latest setback for Embiid, the often brilliant and frequently injured star whose games played total will remain stuck on 13 this unlucky season as the team heads for three challenging road games. It comes with the Sixers having lost four straight games and seven of nine ahead of a trip to play three teams in playoff position.
