According to the criminal complaint, Stachowicz set fire to Grothman’s office in Fond du Lac — causing minor damage — early Sunday morning. He allegedly told police the act was in response to the banning of the social media platform TikTok in the U.S., which Grothman voted in favor of.
The forced social media break was short-lived, however, as TikTok access in the U.S. was reinstated a mere 12 hours later. Shortly after taking office Monday, President Donald Trump signed an executive order halting enforcement of the TikTok ban for 75 days.
