Last season, K-State was clutch in close games, going 4-2. Some of its best victories (Colorado, Kansas, Rutgers and Tulane) were one-score games. But things are now spiraling in the other direction. K-State’s only close win came by three points at home against North Dakota. And it has blown double-digit leads against Army and Baylor.

Luis Rodriguez hit a 38-yard field goal to put Kansas State up 3-0 against UCF with 13:03 left in the second quarter. Lewis Carter and Braeden Marshall made important open-field tackles on Joe Jackson to keep the Wildcats 2 yards shy of the marker. UCF has run just eight offensive plays for 20 yards.
