Before the match, Cena handed a custom intro to Alicia Taylor to read for Styles that highlighted Styles’ career in NJPW, TNA, and more. Cena later revealed he apologized for the intro as he felt he went into business for himself. Speaking to Pat McAfee, Cena stated that it was his choice to apologize.
Appearing on a new episode of Insight with Chris Van Vliet, Cena recounted a conversation he had with Styles about retirement. Styles told Cena that he does not feel like he’s physically capable of delivering a full-fledged farewell tour.
