"Ballerina," a spinoff in the "John Wick" universe, opened behind expectations and below "Lilo & Stitch" on box office charts.

The spinoff came in well behind expectations to score the lowest start of any 'John Wick' pic since the first film as 'Lilo' continues to bare sharp claws and approach $800 million globally.

Data gatherer Artisan Gateway reports Ballerina ’s China box office at $2.9m – opening in third place behind holdover titles Mission: Impossible – The Final Reckoning (topping the China chart in its third week with $10.4m) and Chinese romantic fantasy animation Endless Journey Of Love ($4.2m).
