ESPN draft analyst Mel Kiper Jr. projected Hurricanes star Cam Ward to become the third Miami player ever to be picked first in the NFL draft.

Mel Kiper Jr. revealed his first NFL mock draft for 2025 on Wednesday, and it had a twist involving the 2 elite quarterbacks in the draft.

Sanders also had a career year under his father and Colorado head coach Deion Sanders. Shedeur Sanders (6-foot-2, 215 pounds) finished fourth nationally in passing (4,134 yards) and second nationally in touchdown passes (37) to 10 interceptions, leading the Buffaloes to their best season (9-4) since 2016.

Shedeur Sanders had been the favorite to be the first player taken in the NFL Draft, but that honor belongs to Cam Ward now.
