The Supreme Court has transferred petitions by Amazon and Flipkart from various high courts to the Karnataka High Court. These petitions challenge a Competition Commission of India order for a probe into alleged malpractices by the e-commerce giants.

The order came after both the CCI and e-commerce sellers on the two platforms agreed to transfer the cases as the Karnataka High Court had already been hearing the matter.

CCI launched a probe into alleged malpractices by Flipkart and Amazon India on a complaint by Delhi Vyapar Mahasangh.

The Supreme Court has transferred 24 petitions related to alleged anti-competitive practices by Amazon and Flipkart to the Karnataka High Court’s single-judge bench in Dharwad. The move followed agreement by all parties and a request from the Competition Commission of India (CCI) to consolidate the cases for efficiency.

The court requested the chief justice of the Karnataka high court to consider shifting the single judge, hearing the case from the Dharwad bench to the principal bench in Bengaluru for efficiency
