The world’s top drivers descend upon California on Sunday for the running of the IndyCar Series Grand Prix of Monterey.

The IndyCar Grand Prix of Monterey takes place on Sunday, July 27, 2025 (7/27/25) at WeatherTech Raceway Laguna Seca near Monterey, Calif.

The 2025 IndyCar schedule includes 17 races, starting on the streets of St. Petersburg, Fla., in March, and finishing at Nashville Superspeedway on Aug. 31. Races are run on downtown streets, road courses and oval speedways.

Richmond would fill in a much-needed hole in the schedule, which currently doesn’t have a race in the mid-Atlantic or the Northeast. A return to Pocono, where INDYCAR has seen its share of injuries and loss, is unlikely. Watkins Glen (another NASCAR-owned track) doesn’t seem to be in the conversation.

Arrow McLaren has taken ownership of a new facility in Indianapolis and has begun renovations to expand and modernize the building.
