Kylian Mbappé will follow Real Madrid greats Ferenc Puskas, Clarence Seedorf and Luis Figo by wearing the iconic number 10 jersey after Luka Modric's departure to AC Milan, the LaLiga club said late on Tuesday. The 26-year-old French forward wore the No 9 shirt in his debut season after arriving from Paris St Germain on a free transfer.

Cristiano Ronaldo also changed his shirt number early into his Madrid career. Like Mbappe, the Portugal international wore the No 9 after joining the club from Manchester United in the summer of 2009. He inherited Raul’s No 7 shirt from the 2010/11 season onwards.

Kylian Mbappe wore the No.9 jersey in his debut season with Real Madrid but he will now own the No. 10 jersey, which as worn by legends like Ferenc Puskas, Clarence Seedorf and Luis Figo in the past.
