Dozens of pets from California will be in need of homes here in Seattle next week. Seattle Humane is expecting more than 60 animals to arrive at Boeing Field on Sunday. Spokesperson Brandon Macz said the pets will be vaccinated and checked in on Monday, with many expected to be ready for adoption by Tuesday.

Over 60 shelter cats and dogs will arrive in Seattle from the ravaged Los Angeles area freeing space for lost pets.

Many shelters in Washington are at or nearing capacity, but that’s not stopping them from helping our neighbors to the south. Seattle Humane says it’s partnering with Wings of Rescue and Paws For Life K9 Rescue to pull pets from the Los Angeles area as a series of wildfires torch the state.
