Arsenal suffered their second defeat of pre-season in a row as they were beaten by Villarreal at Emirates Stadium. The visitor went 2-0 up through former Gunners winger Nicolas Pepe and Karl Etta Eyong, but Christian Norgaard pulled a goal back before half-time.

This evening’s clash with Villarreal is the fourth of Arsenal’s five pre-season matches. Arteta’s men picked up wins against AC Milan and Newcastle United in Asia but were beaten in their final game of the tour by Tottenham Hotspur thanks to Pape Matar’s Sarr spectacular halfway-line strike.
